Pedicure

A pedicure typically includes the following steps:

  1. Soaking: Feet are soaked in warm water, often with a special solution or salts, to soften the skin.
  2. Nail Trimming and Shaping: Toenails are trimmed and shaped to the desired length and style.
  3. Cuticle Care: The cuticles around the toenails are pushed back, trimmed, or removed to clean the nail beds.
  4. Exfoliation: Feet and lower legs are exfoliated using a scrub to remove dead skin cells, focusing on rough areas like heels.
  5. Callus Removal: A foot file, pumice stone, or electric buffer is used to smooth rough or callused skin, especially on the soles.
  6. Moisturizing Massage: Lotion, oil, or cream is applied, followed by a relaxing massage of the feet and lower legs to hydrate the skin.
  7. Base Coat Application: A base coat is applied to protect toenails and ensure the polish adheres smoothly.
  8. Polish Application: Two coats of the chosen nail polish color are applied to the toenails.
  9. Top Coat Application: A top coat is added for shine and to seal the color.
  10. Nail Art (optional): Additional designs or embellishments like gems, stripes, or patterns can be added for a decorative look.
  11. Gel Polish (optional): Gel or shellac polish may be used for a longer-lasting finish, cured under a UV or LED lamp.
  12. Final Touches: Any excess polish around the toenails is cleaned, and the feet are given a final check for a polished, neat finish.
